Notes

Composed during the summer of 2013, Divine Intervention utilizes a traditional rondo form to create musical interventions, which do not depict a specific narrative, but instead invite the listener into an abstract world of rhythm, sound, and motion. The horn is a heroic voice that toggles between roles of lyrical soloist and catalyst for dramatic propulsion. The string quartet guides the listener through an otherworldly palette of textures, evolving from atmospheric to aggressive, to contrapuntal and eventually melodic. Bridging the gap between the earthy strings and the celestial horn, the harp gains momentum, defies gravity, and dissolves.
